If you want to surf while you are on holiday you can now access high speed broadband with a mobile broadband connection when you are abroad in a selection of countries.
If there is a mobile provider eg 3, t-mobile, vodaphone etc. which has a mobile coverage in the country you are visiting then you will be able to access the internet on your laptop with your laptop and a mobile broadband usb dongle. This applies to most EU countries and a large selection of countries from the rest of the World. If you are going on holiday abroad and need to be able to check your emails etc then providing you have a mobile broadband contract you will be able to surf whilst you sun.

Costs vary from provider to provider and are additional to your existing contract. It is generally more expensive to use your laptop broadband on holiday overseas and is usually charged by the Megabyte. It is however, now less expensive than it has ever been before to connect your laptop to the internet abroad. Vodaphone seem to offer the best value giving you a flat rate of £9.99 for 24 hours access with a 50 MB limit. This would allow you to surf the web for about an hour or send about 50 emails. This flat rate is available in the majority of EU contries however elsewhere the cost is £4.99 per MB.
